Therapy in Missouri
IT’S TIME TO BREAK THE PATTERNS HOLDING YOU BACK - FOR GOOD.
Available in-person in St. Louis and online across MO for men and women who want lasting change, not another coping strategy.
“Functioning” isn't the same as feeling good, and you know it. So… what are you supposed to do?
From the outside, your life works. You've built something you’re genuinely proud of when you stop to look at it. But then, something happens—a request from your boss, a fight with your spouse, a demand from your kid—and your mood dips or your temper goes and you lose your footing. The hobbies that used to energize you start to feel like chores, and the version of you that was thriving a few weeks ago seems unrecognizable.
You've watched this happen enough times to know something within you needs to change. So you read the books everyone recommends and lean hard into becoming a better version of yourself. Maybe you journal or say affirmations. You may have even tried therapy before (or at least looked into it).
YOU’RE DOING THE WORK. AND STILL…
You put the kids down at the end of another identical day, drop onto the couch with a bag of chips for dinner again, and think: is this it? Wake up, work, sleep, repeat, for the next thirty years?
When someone asks for something from you—maybe a favor for a friend or overtime at work—you say yes out of obligation. But by the end of the day, you’re depleted and lacking any motivation to tackle your own growing to-do list.
You're in the middle of a moment you're “supposed” to enjoy—your kid's birthday, a dinner with your partner, doing a hobby you love—and there's a hum of sadness underneath it that won’t go away.
Your partner says the wrong thing or your kid pushes a button, and you snap before you can stop yourself. You’re ashamed of it, because you swore you’d never behave that way toward the people you love.
You’re constantly worried that something bad will happen—your spouse will leave you, your job will fire you, your family will hate you—if you can’t address your own issues or fix what’s “wrong” with you.
You stress about it all day when your boss puts a meeting on your calendar. You brace to be outed as the fraud you feel like, even though you're good at your job.
WHAT IF WHAT YOU’VE BEEN TENDING IS AT THE SURFACE, WHEN WHAT’S KEEPING YOU STUCK IS AT THE ROOT?
Let's pull the weeds together.
I’M ASHLEY.
I’m not about quick advice or Band-Aid solutions—I’m interested in helping you make changes that last.
I work with people who are curious about themselves, motivated to improve, and done with approaches that treat the symptom without ever finding the source.
What I do is straightforward: You come in with a problem that you want to pay attention to, I listen closely for themes and patterns, and let you know what I observed. But understanding these patterns is just the start. We then address the behaviors causing you pain or holding you back from a fulfilling life.
I do this work because I genuinely love seeing how people can open up a little more with each session. I have the privilege of helping my clients move toward a life lived with joy, motivation, and authenticity—a life they knew was possible but didn’t know how to achieve.
I SPECIALIZE IN:
Therapy for Men
Depression & Anxiety
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
THERAPY WITH ME IS…
A focused conversation with a clear and well-defined direction.
Direct and engaged—I'll tell you what I'm noticing and ask you what you make of it.
About understanding what's driving your patterns and then doing something about it.
Work that connects what's happened in the past to what keeps happening in the present.
For people who are ready to understand themselves, not just feel better temporarily.
THERAPY WITH ME IS NOT…
A place to vent without direction.
Homework, worksheets, or a list of strategies that offer temporary relief.
Advice about what you should do or how you should feel.
Validation for its own sake—if something's worth looking at, we're going to look at it.
A space where I talk about myself or make it about my own life.
A quick fix or a passive experience—you’re an active participant and in charge of your own progress.
