Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to common questions about what you might expect in working with me. If you don't see your specific question here, contact me at ashley@ashleyblaketherapy.com, and I’ll respond within 48 hours.

  • We meet once a week at the same time every week until the goals of therapy have largely been met. Every other week appointments are considered as an off-ramp from therapy when you feel good about treatment coming to a close.

  • The time frame varies from person to person. It can depend on the severity of symptoms and how long you have experienced mental health issues in your life. Many clients feel there is noticeable relief after 3-6 months of treatment, while some will need ongoing therapy and medication support over a longer period of time.

  • As of 2/19/26, I have the following times available for weekly therapy:

    • Wednesdays at 9:00 AM

    • Wednesdays at 11:00 AM

    • Fridays at 10:00 AM

  • My self-pay rate is $135 for a 45 minute session. I offer sliding scale rates for those who need more flexibility in pricing and are wanting to opt out of using their insurance coverage.

For those using insurance, the cost of the session is based on the co-insurance of your particular plan and the rate I have contracted with your insurance company. Please check with your plan to understand your deductibles, co-insurance, and/or co-pay.

  • I currently accept most Aetna and Optum/United Healthcare/UMR commercial plans, and I am considered an out of network provider for other insurance plans. I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement if I am not in your network.

For those who would like to explore a greater level of privacy and freedom from insurance requirements, or whose deductibles are so high that therapy remains unaffordable, a negotiated private pay rate may be possible.

  • I charge the full session rate of $135 (or the rate I would have received from your insurance company) if you cancel with less than 48 hours.

  • I work with individuals over the age of 18. While I work with people on relationship difficulties they may be having, I do not offer couple’s therapy. Instead, I help individuals better understand their patterns in a variety of relationships.

  • I offer both in-person and video sessions, or a mix of both depending on your scheduling needs.

You’re not broken. You’re just stuck. Let’s change that.
